What are School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships?

Australian School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships allow students to combine their schooling with part-time on-the-job training and formal study to achieve a Nationally-Recognised Qualification. Students will be required to undertake 6 hours of studying a qualification each week and a minimum of 7 hours each week of employment.

U TRAIN can meet with you to discuss individual arrangements. This can include trainees working split shifts, during the weekend or blocks of employment during school holidays. The flexibility of the program ensures students are able to achieve desired results whilst still attending school and not impacting the school program.

This type of learning is a great way to get careers off to a head-start while your students are still at school as they are already well underway to getting qualified before you have even finished Year 12. Once students have finished school and begin their journey into the adult life they are able to utilise the qualification to work in the industry whilst they continue further study.

U Train Traineeships allow your students to:

  • Learn practical skills that employers desire
  • Start earning money
  • Gain a Nationally Recognised Qualification for their future career
  • Gain credits towards their final years of schooling
  • Go on to higher education using the qualification as a pre-requisite once they have completed their Apprenticeship or Traineeship.

By starting an Australian Apprenticeship with U Train under a school-based arrangement, students will be able to complete a traineeship, making them more employable once they leave school.

If your students are interested in starting a School-based Apprenticeship, it’s important to get in touch with U Train as soon as possible to find out the opportunities available in your local area and how to access them.

Note: your students will require the consent of a parent or legal guardian to participate in an Australian School-based Apprenticeship and be 15 years of age at commencement.[/vc_column_text][stm_sign_up_now form=”1882″ title=”Find out more about your preferred course”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″ offset=”vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”][vc_cta h2=”Got a Question?” h4=”Call us today on” color=”white” css=”.vc_custom_1542935517817{background-color: #42b549 !important;}”]
